Where you were on Thursday when I needed you? Thank you for this concrete list of reminders, ironically strategies I teach students all the time, for me to just get things done.
I finally got diagnosed with ADHD at age 69, and during COVID. I was making myself and my amazing wife crazy. I think the only difference I can note which may or may not be sex/gender oriented is that I am doing 20 things at once and not doing a very good job on any of them. Your checklist is very helpful, though I resist routine passionately. I pray for a blessed day for you and all of your readers.
These are brilliant tips, and I've never thought of a few of them and should give them a try. I have a job that's giving me a lot of overwhelm at the minute! Plus, I think these strategies would work for a number of my students. Thanks Kristen!
I really resonate with this! High chronic stress (which I’ve had the last 4 months) really makes everything so much harder. 😮💨 Good to know I have already implemented a few of these strategies - coffee is my go to dopamine helper, couple that with taking myself and my laptop to a coffee shop (external environment) and I can be super productive. I also write tasks down at the start of each day in my planner/journal - feels good when I can tick them off. ✅
My coteacher and I both struggle with completing our required ongoing trainings on our own, so we’ve started doing them together after we either get Starbucks together or (if we’d rather have lunch) after eating Mexican. It does help!
