What if I have everything except the extra flexible piece? I'm the least flexible person on the planet but 100% all the others 😭

Yep - I have ADHD (and am autistic), EDS, and autonomic neuropathy (in addition to orthostatic hypotension). The hard part is, "I have the diagnosis; now what?"

Ugh I struggle with the “now what?” As well. Like I have all the symptoms. Am I going to pay thousands out of pocket to get a doctor to say that to me and then offer no solutions? What’s it all for

Yes and yes. I wrote about this phenomenon and Dr. Eccles’ research in a post a couple months ago. https://open.substack.com/pub/writingyogini/p/scaffolding-please?r=54ul9q&utm_medium=ios

Thanks for bringing more awareness to this topic!

What about extremely tight inflexible joints? Is that associated with anything? I've always had super tight muscles and joints despite deep stretching/yoga every day and dancing every day (I don't have adhd though).

I have this issue, also. I stretch and activate and mobilize and strengthen and the tightness remains

My hypermobility was diagnosed 30 years before my ADHD. I’m turning 60 this year and hope to live another 30 years at least because I am *finally* getting it together!!

I am 53 and have hEDS. I’m on the waiting list for a POTs assessment and on another for ADHD. I know exactly what you mean. All the best :-)

I’m all of these things to the extreme but I am not hyper mobile. I have other auto immune diseases and I’m very stiff jointed. I am quite inflexible actually— kind of to the extreme. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. I medicated at first. It did not work after about a year so I went off the meds and I’ve been a wreck ever since it stopped working. Can’t read a book to save my life. I’m either hyper focused on keeping things tidy or I’ve given up on life. There’s an on and off switch I don’t have access to in my own body.

Thank you for connecting the dots. I do not have ADHD but my kids have been diagnosed with it. Reading these symptoms makes me wonder if their ADHD symptoms are masking other things or if the other things are impacting their ADHD. Such a puzzle.
